  • The best outdoor furniture material depends on your climate and use. Ashley offers outdoor furniture in materials suited for different weather conditions:

  • Mix mild soap with warm water, gently scrub surfaces with a soft brush. Remove cushions and wash covers according to care labels. For mildew, use a vinegar-water solution. Rinse thoroughly and let dry completely. Protect with outdoor furniture covers when not in use. Read manufacture and warranty details before cleaning.

  • Mix one cup of mild dish soap with one gallon of warm water. Scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush following the wood grain. For tough stains, use a mixture of water and vinegar. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Let dry completely. Apply teak oil if desired to maintain color. Review manufacturer and warranty details before proceeding.

  • Mix dish soap with warm water, wipe down metal surfaces with a soft cloth. For rust spots, use a wire brush and sandpaper, then touch up with paint. Remove stubborn stains with white vinegar solution. Rinse thoroughly, dry completely to prevent rust. Apply paste wax for protection. Review manufacturer and warranty details before proceeding.

  • Mix mild soap with warm water, scrub with a soft brush in direction of wood grain. For tough stains, use a vinegar-water solution. Rinse thoroughly and let dry completely. Sand rough spots lightly if needed. Apply wood sealer or protective oil annually to prevent weathering. Review manufacturer and warranty details before proceeding.

  • Mix dish soap with warm water, wipe down with a soft cloth. For stubborn stains, use a solution of vinegar and water or baking soda paste. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. For white plastic, hydrogen peroxide helps remove discoloration. Review manufacturer and warranty details before proceeding.

  • Mix mild soap with warm water, use a soft brush to clean between wicker weaves. Vacuum first to remove debris. For mildew, apply vinegar-water solution. Avoid pressure washers as they can damage fibers. Rinse gently with garden hose, dry thoroughly in sun to prevent mold. Review manufacturer and warranty details before proceeding.

  • Create conversation areas by placing seating pieces facing each other, leaving 3-4 feet for traffic flow. Position dining sets near house entry points. Consider natural elements like sun exposure and wind patterns. Place larger pieces against walls or railings as anchors. Add patio tables within arm's reach of seating.

  • Outdoor furniture sales start at the end-of-summer (August-September) offering discounts, followed by Labor Day sales, and markdowns continue through October. Early-bird deals appear January-February. To prepare early, shop pre-season sales in early spring.
