	Position Purpose:	Ashley Distribution Services and Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. is seeking a Director, Human Resources to support the Ashley Distribution Service. The Director, Human Resources serves as a strategic leader for Ashley Furniture Distribution across multiple facilities/locations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a combination of strong transportation industry business acumen and significant Human Resource (HR) functional knowledge to guide the development of HR strategies that will attract, develop and retain talent. This position requires an individual who can act as a senior consultant to the business, build and execute strong integrated HR strategies and initiatives, as well as manage and develop the teams that support the department.

	Necessary Skills and Abilities:	Education: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Experience: 15 years Human Resource Management Transportation Industry Recruiting of Drivers Knowledge of: State & Federal Employment Laws DOT Regulations Sills & Abilities: Driver recruiting and advertising Training methods & delivery Proficient in MS Office Suite

	Essential Functions:	Develops and implements Human Resource and DOT polices to meet organizational needs and compliance with state and federal regulations. Manages all employee relation issues/concerns and responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Oversees research of local market rates for positions to assess relationship to organization compensation plan. Develops and Audits training at each Distribution Center in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, separations, grievances, performance review, safety, sexual harassment, and diversity training. Develops tracking and analyzes trends at each Distribution Center in employee turnover, hiring, and retention.
